Pass FY22 Appropriations Package: Pancreatic Cancer Patients Can't Wait

Dear [Decision Maker],

As your constituent and a member of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) community, I ask that you swiftly finish your work on a fiscal year 2022 funding package that includes critical funding for pancreatic cancer research at the National Cancer Institute and the Department of Defense.

Medical research does not work on a fiscal calendar and researchers and patients are counting on you to approve funding that will allow life-saving research to move forward. A year-long continuing resolution would be detrimental to federal research funding for pancreatic cancer.

For the over 60,000 American patients diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this year with just a 5-year survival rate of 10%, please fund the critical research that could lead to new treatment options and early detection strategies.

I ask that you pass an FY22 budget that includes:

- $20 million for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Program at the Department of Defense
- $51.7 billion for the National Institutes of Health, including $7.6 billion for the National Cancer Institute

Pancreatic cancer does not stop or slow down. Please finish your work.
