INCENTIVES

PanCAN PurpleStride would not make the impact it does for those affected by pancreatic cancer without our top fundraisers and teams. To show our appreciation for your dedication, we recognize the Top 10 national and local fundraising teams, with the Top 3 local teams and Top 3 fundraisers receiving special recognition on event day!

Champion Circle Badge

In addition, the Champion Circle program recognizes PurpleStride teams that hit certain fundraising levels for their events ranging from customized signs to your own VIP tent on event day.

SPECIAL GUEST

Mark Winne, WSB-TV
Investigative Reporter

Mark Winne, WSB-TV

While Mark Winne was still a student at Auburn University and working part-time at The Birmingham News, he and a photographer spotted a hand sticking out of the trunk of a car and chased it across the city, ultimately leading to the rescue of a kidnap victim. Thus began a career of crime and corruption coverage. After three and a half years working full-time for the News, Mark was hired by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Later switching to television, he went on the air for WSB-TV in 1986 and has helped Channel 2 Action News break many of Georgia's biggest stories. His print and broadcast work have been honored with numerous professional and civic awards, including a number of Southern Regional Emmys. Mark's coverage of a series of mail bombings that killed a federal judge and a civil rights attorney led to the publication of his book on the case, "Priority Mail" (Scribner, 1995.) Mark has been active at church and with a number of charities, especially two that are major players in fighting cancer, Swim Across America and Winship Cancer Institute, along with our non-profit partners Caring For Others and Special Olympics. He has been deeply involved in Channel 2’s Convoy of Care, which, in partnership with several organizations, delivers relief supplies from our viewers and partners to areas across the region stricken by natural disasters. For several seasons he has coached youth basketball and baseball, and, currently, high school golf. Married for 33 years to the love of his life, the late Kate Sievert Winne, they have two sons who are both successful attorneys.
