History

A personal history behind a proud alliance.

Todd, Tim and their DadWhen executive Todd Miller first discovered the  pancreatic cancer cause in 2008, he didn’t have a connection to the disease. The bedding industry has long supported pancreatic cancer research led by Roger Magowitz and the Seena Magowitz Celebrity Golf Classic, launched in 2003. After learning about pancreatic cancer from colleagues on the golf course and reading ‘The Last Lecture’ by Dr. Randy Pausch, a doctor who lost his life to the disease, Miller felt compelled to get involved – and to get his company involved.

Several years later, after rallying support totaling $1M through various Tempur-Pedic outreach efforts, it took a deeply personal turn.

In 2011, Todd’s brother, Tim, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He lost his battle 14 months later at age 47.

Tempur-Pedic pledged in 2013 to fund an inaugural $1 million Research Acceleration Network (RAN) Grant in memory of Tim Miller and has been using its Hugs Back campaign and Rest Test promotion to fulfill that pledge.

Tempur-Pedic, the leading manufacturer, marketer and distributor of premium mattresses and pillows worldwide, has long supported the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Since 2009, Tempur-Pedic has invested $2.1 million to fund research and our Community for Progress research program.

Additionally, the leading corporate champion fights on all fronts to Wage Hope through employee giving and engagement and volunteer employee participation in Advocacy Day, underscoring their conviction in our Vision of Progress to double survival by 2020.

Wage Hope with Tempur Sealy and put pancreatic cancer to rest.

All donations will go directly to the Tempur-Pedic Hugs Back Campaign, which funds pancreatic cancer research programs through the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. 501(c)(3) tax ID# 33-0841281
