It’s so hard for me to think that it is over three years since Vicki died of pancreatic cancer. I can still remember when she was diagnosed and not being able to wrap my head around it. As many of you know, she rose to the challenge in the only way she knew, with that enormous energy and belief that she could beat this awful disease. Sadly, that was not the case, and six short months after that diagnosis, pancreatic cancer took one of the kindest, loveliest and strong people I have ever had the pleasure to call my friend.
In honor of Vicki and all those who are fighting or have lost their lives to this ugly disease, I will be participating in the Flying Pig weekend (May 6-7) here in Cincinnati again. I’m registered for the 5K and the 10K on Saturday and the half-marathon on Sunday (the 3-way). I’m supporting PanCAN’s vision to create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive. We still have a very long way to go.
Every dollar you give funds life-changing programs and services for patients and their families. Because of you, patients and families receive essential services, resources, information, and support when they are urgently seeking help and hope.
I am profoundly grateful for any donation you can give in memory of Vicki.
Thank you so very much, Janet
