On December 8th, at 12:40pm, Jim Russell Jr passed away at Jacob and Amanda’s house in Kansas City, Kansas. Mom was by his side.
He was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in July of 2021. He spent the next year going through chemo and radiation treatments. After an attempted procedure to remove the tumor in December of 2021, they discovered the tumor was inoperable. Over the past summer, the Dr’s discovered lesions on his liver. On October 11th, he had 2 small strokes and they discovered his heart had weakened. Though he fought hard, his health declined over the following weeks, as he was in and out of the hospital. He never lost hope and he never gave up.
In honor of my loved one, I’m supporting PanCAN’s vision to create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer can have hope.
