There was no particular reason for this trip - just two retired brothers looking for something to do and hoping to see some sights while doing it.
Steve's diagnosis in the Spring of that year and subsequent treatment over the next 16 months put an end to our plan.
Now, almost three years later, our original idea has morphed into a Memorial Fundraiser for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
The trip is on!
I will be leaving from Route 66 milepost zero in downtown Chicago on Saturday 4/6/2024, and I plan to arrive in Santa Monica on Friday 4/12/2024 . The one-way drive is approximately 2,278 miles. I will be following the itinerary Steve and I were planning to use and I will document my journey throughout the trip using social media.
