Dr. Belinda Min Chu Yeh of Sugar Land, Texas, U.S.A. passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2024 from pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her family at the age of 69. She was born on August 14, 1954 in Manila, Philippines where she grew up in a large and close-knit family of nine children, of which she was the eighth child of Ngo Po and Law Giok Ting. At the age of 18, she left her family and home country to study medicine during a time where few females were doctors. She graduated from National Taiwan University with Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) in 1980. She immigrated to the United States in 1987 and completed her Pediatrics residency at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, California from 1987 to 1990.
Dr. Yeh worked as a dedicated and loving pediatrician for over 40 years, caring for over 10,000 children during her career at Bellaire Childrens Clinic in Houston, Texas. Her clinic, staff, and patients were her life’s passion, and she tirelessly devoted her time, energy, and love to ensuring the best care of her patients. She has practiced for so long that some of her patients have even become grandparents and have brought their grandchildren to see her at the clinic.
She is preceded in death by her son Andrew Yeh, parents Ngo Po and Law Giok Ting, siblings Ngo Tiao Hiong, David Ngo, Lillian Ngo, and William Ngo, brother-in-law Antonio Uy, and in-laws Yeh A-Shih and Yeh Lo Liu Mei.
She is survived by her husband Daniel, two children Randy and Jenny, daughter-in-law Dana, son-in-law Xavier, and grandson Cassius, as well as several nephews and nieces, who she helped raise and loved like her own children – Bill, Joe, May, and Mike.
The family would like to thank her oncologist Dr. Robert Wolff and the entire team at MD Anderson Cancer Center for the care and compassion they showed her. In addition, the family would like to thank her close friends and family for all the support and love they have given.
