In honor of my dad, Andy Borowski, who was recently diagnosed, I’m supporting PanCAN’s vision to create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive.
When my dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on February 19, 2024, it felt like my whole world stopped. It's still extremely difficult to accept his diagnosis as I often experience all stages of grief depending on the day. There are days that I don't want to believe it, days where I'm in tears and days where I'm extremely angry. But there is never a day where I don't feel hope or optimism. My dad is my best friend and I can't imagine a life without him in it. My dad has so much life left to live and so many more memories to make with us. Because of the research consistently being done, and the amazing medical personnel who devote their careers to this field, I believe that my dad will be a pancreatic cancer survivor and success story! If anyone can beat this, it's my dad.
Pancreatic cancer statistics are grim; however, advancements in cancer treatment and clinical trials are being made everyday. Every dollar you give funds life-changing programs, and services. Because of you, patients and families receive essential services, resources, information and support when they are urgently seeking help and hope. These programs that are funded could be the next life-saving medical trial or chemotherapy treatment. Patients and families need people like you now more than ever. I discovered PanCAN shortly after my dad's diagnosis and it has been an amazing resource filled with an abundance of information and made possible all by incredible donors.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and read about my dad. I am profoundly grateful for your generous donation.
