Ted was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just six days before he passed away. I was with him when he learned the diagnosis and we were both blindsided. Ted never left the hospital and was moved to hospice care 3 days after diagnosis where he peacefully passed surrounded by family.
Pancreatic cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers. It is currently the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States after lung and colon.
