Here’s a glimpse into the life of our mother.
Linda Steiner was born in 1955, a year she fondly associated with the opening of Disneyland. She was a loving mother to Michael Steiner and Lisa (Steiner) Welborn, a devoted grandmother to Jack and Luke, and best friend to Debbie Merhtens.
Linda enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, and learning Italian. She had a passion for genealogy and loved investigating family connections on Ancestry.com, even communicating with relatives in Italy.
Music was one of Linda’s great loves, especially the works of Mariah Carey, The Carpenters, Andrea Bocelli, Air Supply, Neil Sedaka, and Kenny G. She also enjoyed playing the piano and always dreamed of attending more concerts.
Linda was a dedicated planner of family vacations, organizing trips to places like Sunriver, Alaska, Disneyland, Victoria, Vancouver, Shasta, Carter Lake, and the Caribbean. She especially enjoyed traveling with her friend Debbie and the crew to Catalina and Napa.
Her culinary skills, though she doubted them, were cherished by her family. She loved coffee and dessert at night and was a night owl, meticulous in everything she did. Linda took pride in her house cleaning business, combining entrepreneurship with her caring nature.
Linda's high school years were golden, filled with sports, her participation in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), and shorthand competitions, where she won 1st Place in Junior Stenography in 1973. These formative years also brought her lifelong friends, Debbie, Pam, and Carol, who have been by her side through even to this day.
Linda was a wonderful mother, always providing love, support, and memorable holidays and birthdays. She was actively involved in her children's activities, ensuring they had opportunities to explore their interests. She adored her grandchildren, encouraging their skills and spending precious time with them.
Every holiday was special because of Linda's efforts to make them magical. She was generous, always buying gifts for everyone and decorating her home. Her love for family and friends was evident in everything she did.
Linda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, care, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
