Charlie with his dear sister, Susan
On July 28th, 2024, my wife and I took my dad to the ER to be evaluated for a possible stroke. It turned out to be Pancreatic Cancer, stage four, and strokes-multiple bilateral strokes caused by the cancer.
We planned to try chemo, after stroke rehab. We brought him home from the hospital for one day after he went from the hospital to inpatient rehab, before he had the port put in. Once he had the port put in, we realized something wasn’t right.
Back to the hospital, a brain hemorrhage, but also blood clots. This cancer was horribly aggressive. The doctors collectively recommended coming home on hospice care.
We came home on Friday, August 23rd and he passed on Tuesday, August 27th. One month from diagnosis.
