We will preface that it is very difficult to put Ward Baxter into words. His life impacted so many people, whether they were close friends or a stranger passing in an interaction. He always found a way to connect with people, which he always said was most important. He believed in relationships and people and surrounded himself with the most amazing family and friends.
Ward Baxter lived a life full of adventure, water skiing, new and old traditions, time spent with family and friends, and meaningful memories. Above all else, Ward treasured his family. His wife Jackie of 35 years and his 3 sons, Tyler, Cameron, and Garrett were the loves of his life and what he was most proud of. His youngest son Garrett put it best, Ward always put his family first and never missed a sporting or school event and showed up in every way that matters. If you had the pleasure of knowing Ward, you know that he would put his family and friends above himself and help them in any situation or way that he knew how. If you met Ward as a stranger, you left as a friend. He was loyal to a fault and always kept his word.
Ward was proud of many titles including Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Son, Cousin, Professional Water Skiier, Snow Skiier, Show Director, Officiant, Father-in-Law, Realtor, Boat Broker, Son-in-Law, Coach, Snowmobiler, ATVer, and in recent years he was very proud to add the title Grandpa.
Ward is missed by his family every single day. There is not a day that goes by that we do not feel his absence.
In honor of Ward Baxter, we are supporting PanCAN’s vision to create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive.
The best way to honor Ward's memory is to help raise awareness and fight this terrible cancer that often gives no warning signs and give others a fighting chance.
We are profoundly grateful for your generous donation.
