Anna was a deeply loving, compassionate, and strong woman. Life was never simple for her, yet she faced every challenge with courage, grace, and determination. In the early 1980s, she made the brave choice to leave her family in Italy and start anew in the United States, carrying with her the hope of a better future. The same dedication she gave to her work, she poured into her role as a mother ? providing structure, discipline, and unwavering encouragement that helped us grow and strive to be our very best.
Family was always the heartbeat of Anna?s life. One of her greatest wishes was to keep us connected to our Italian roots and to the loved ones she left behind across the ocean. As children, we didn?t always appreciate the effort it took to learn Italian, but her persistence gave us a lifelong gift. Because of her, we?ve been able to hold on to bonds of love and kinship that distance could never erase.
Her love extended beyond her family into the community. Whether volunteering with the Garden People, nurturing life in the plots of Riverside Park, or simply showing up for a friend in need, Anna gave of herself wholeheartedly. Even during her own battle with cancer, she continued thinking of others, including her dear neighbor and close friend Bobby.
We miss Anna more than words can ever fully express. Yet her spirit lives on in us ? in the way we live, in the values she instilled, and in the love she so generously shared. To carry her legacy forward, we are supporting PanCAN?s vision of a world where all patients with pancreatic cancer can thrive.
Every gift made in her honor helps provide life-changing resources, hope, and vital support to families who are navigating the hardest days of their lives. Because of your generosity, patients and their loved ones can find the strength, care, and encouragement they need ? just as Anna gave so freely throughout her life.
From the depths of my heart, thank you. Your kindness not only honors Anna?s memory, but also ensures that her legacy of love, strength, and compassion continues to touch lives far beyond our own family.
