Mark your calendar! Beginning June 2023, we embark on a cross country bicycle tour to honor the memory of a dear friend who lost his battle to pancreatic cancer in May 2022.
Scotty T. embodied all that is good in a person - devoted family man, committed firefighter, staunch outdoorsman, and faithful friend. Our hope is to pay tribute to him with each pedal stroke as well as raise awareness of PanCan's relentless mission to support individuals and families impacted by this deadly cancer. Your donations will help to ease the struggle of others who are still in the battle against pancreatic cancer and help us to forge a path of goodwill as a lasting legacy to our dear friend.
I first met Scotty in the Summer of 1970 just before we entered the sixth grade. We were in the same class and became fast friends, as we shared the love of fishing, hockey and going fast on our bikes. Scotty introduced me to Rock and Roll and the Boy Scouts. Our friendship held strong through the years and eventually grew to include our spouses and our children.
One of the sad aspects of Scotty T’s passing is that there were many bucket list objectives that he was unable to accomplish due to the speed in which pancreatic cancer took control of his life. So in memory of Scotty’s spirit, I will be taking on the 4,200 mile trek across America to check off one of my bucket list adventures. You can be a part of this great adventure with your generous donation. We welcome any contribution in any amount, a onetime donation in a lump sum, a dollar amount to serve as an incentive per day (hopefully no more than 90 days) even a commitment of pennies per mile will help us to meet and hopefully exceed our goal.
