Kate's Journey 2024
My wife Kate died from Stage IV pancreatic cancer on December 12, 2022. Last August I began Kate's Journey by walking from W. Yarmouth, MA to Ogunquit Maine, a walk that took 13 days and raised over $100,000. for PANCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network), an organization which provides funding for finding diagnostic tools and patient assistance. So many of you contributed to help and allow Kate's Journey 2023 to be such a great success.
This year, I've decided to make Kate's Journey a 5K walk so that as many people as possible can participate. The walk will begin at the Main Beach parking lot at Ogunquit Beach, and start on the beach that Kate loved so much. I hope you all can come and join us, or, if you cannot make it to walk, please consider making a contribution via the link to PANCAN. The current 5 year survival rate for patients diagnosed with this disease is a mere 13%, and funding for improved diagnosis and treatment is desperately needed. Please join us in bringing and end to this terrible disease.
Kate's Journey 2023
I lost my beautiful wife Kate to pancreatic cancer late last year. Court and Jared lost their mom. On our 41st wedding anniversary this August, I will begin the 155 mile walk between the Cape Cod beach where we met in 1978 and the Ogunquit beach where we retired and spent countless summer days.
I've learned more than I would've liked to about this ruthless disease, from the lack of effective markers for early diagnosis, to how few meaningful treatments there are. My goal is to raise as much money as possible to give patients like Kate some real HOPE and a fighting chance. I will cover all of my own expenses, and 100% of your contributions to PanCAN will fund research and support the patients and caregivers going through the unthinkable. I'd appreciate anything you can give.
Kate was the center of my world, and I'll be thinking of her every step of the way.
Thank you!!!
