My best friend, Ben, passed away of pancreatic cancer. I run this to honor him and with hope to raise money for research.
Ben assured me of the importance of embracing life's journey without succumbing to the relentless pursuit of productivity. He reminded me to appreciate the beauty of life, to revel in growth and transformation. To not live fearing the future, but, with appreciation for it. This perspective has profoundly influenced me, teaching me to value the essence of life beyond mere achievements. Ben unfortunately passed away on August 20, 2023.
Now, as I prepare to run the LA Marathon, I do so in tribute to Ben's memory and his enlightening approach to life. My participation not only serves as a personal homage but also aims to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer, a cruel disease that has taken too much from too many. Ben's legacy endures through these efforts, inspiring a more profound appreciation for life's fleeting moments and the connections that give it meaning.
