In 2021, my dad was diagnosed with Stage 1B Pancreatic Cancer. After chemo, he was part of the only 20% of people to be eligible for the complex Whipple surgery. Following additional chemo, he had no evidence of disease for almost 2 years.
In December 2023, it was confirmed the cancer had returned and spread. My Dad is currently doing chemo biweekly for the foreseeable future. Current scans show positive change, but the cancer remains.
After taking some time off from raising funds for pancreatic cancer research and patient support over the last year, I've signed up for the Richmond Half Marathon on Nov. 16, smack in the middle of Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. I've set an ambitious fundraising goal and hope to reach it by race day.
With your support, I'll reach my goal and help improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer.
Every dollar you give funds life-changing programs and services for patients and their families. Because of you, patients, like my Dad, and families receive essential services, resources, information, and support when they are urgently seeking help and hope.
Please make a gift of any size to get me one step closer to my fundraising goal and help PanCAN create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive.
I am grateful for your generous and continued support.
