Please join me (or donate what you can) as I run for PanCan at the Rocky Run in Philadelphia on Saturday, November 9th.
Though my mom's cancer journey has been far more than just "rocky," I think the name of this run is an apt description of the past few years for our family, as my mom has navigated multiple cancer diagnoses. Not only is she currently undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer, but she has battled breast cancer TWICE.
Through it all, my mom has continued to be who she always is-- hilarious, confident, loving, and always ready for an adventure-- but with the added pressure of cancer weighing on every moment of every day.
I am running to benefit PanCan because it is a chronically under-researched and under-funded disease. (see, e.g. https://pancan.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/NCI_Funding_Report_2011.pdf).
My mom and so many others are suffering through antiquated, inadequate, and incredibly painful treatments. I am hopeful that with fundraising and awareness, we can bring pancreatic cancer the attention it so desperately needs. Thank you so much for joining me in fundraising for this worthy cause.
