Hi there! Welcome to my fundraising page for pancreatic cancer research and support for families affected by it. This cause is deeply personal for me -- I lost my grandfather to pancreatic cancer, and my Uncle Steve was recently diagnosed with it and is currently undergoing chemo. This story sadly is not uncommon. Pancreatic cancer is the fourth deadliest cancer in the United States, with a 5-year survival rate of only 13%.
But there is hope. Thanks to advances in early detection and treatment, the 5-year survival rate has been increasing slowly but consistently year over year. PanCan is committed to driving 5-year survivability of pancreatic cancer to 20% by 2030. Beyond research funding, they also provide services directly to patients and families, from discussing treatment options to organizing support groups.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about this cause. Please consider making a gift of any size to help PanCan create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer can access resources, support, and treatment. When my goal is reached, I will be shaving my head this November (Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month) to show solidarity with those affected by this disease.
If you are looking for other ways to support those with cancer, please consider writing letters to cancer patients through St. Jude's (https://www.stjude.org/get-involved/send-virtual-cards-online-to-childrens-hospital-patients.html) or American Cancer Society (https://www.acsresources.org/lovenotes/). Letters can make a huge difference to those who receive them.
Thank you again for visiting my page and your support!
