12 years ago I started this journey to raise money to honor those impacted by Pancreatic Cancer and to help find a cure. To date I have raised over $15,000! This June I am planning to run my 13th half-marathon during Grandmas Marathon weekend in Duluth in support of Pancreatic Cancer.
Within a year of each other I lost two of my uncles to Pancreatic Cancer. I knew nothing about Pancreatic Cancer up until this point other than Jen had also lost her Grandpa at a very early age to this same disease.
We found out quickly how aggressive this disease was and how low the survivor rate was. I knew I wanted to do something to help and it has been my motivation ever since. Every year there are new lives including people that we know and love that are affected by Pancreatic Cancer.
In 2025, the American Cancer Society estimates that approximately 67,440 Americans will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and around 51,980 will die from the disease, with a five-year survival rate of 13%.
