Troy was a kind, smart, and very funny guy, but one thing I admired most about him was his desire to build, whether it be family, knowledge, or even the more literal sense. As someone who's less than handy, I was always a bit jealous and impressed by that last one. He always laid out challenging goals for himself, and worked tirelessly to achieve them, even if it took years.
Troy's diagnosis coincided with my commitment and renewed enjoyment of running. A chance to clear my head and release stress. His passing was a reminder that tomorrow is never promised, but also an inspiration to set challenging goals, and put in the hard work to make them happen.
