Racing to Find a Cure for Pancreatic Cancer
With your support, I’m taking bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer.
The speed of our brother Jerry’s pancreatic cancer journey ~ 33 days from diagnosis to death ~ was brutal. He fought so hard and all he wanted to do was make it to chemo and punch cancer back. He passed the day before his first treatment. I’m taking on the NYC Marathon to help give someone else the chance to “punch cancer back.”
Jerry enjoyed competing in car racing with the Sports Car Club of America and his victories inspired my team name: “Racing for a Cure for Pancreatic Cancer.” He would have turned 71 this year and that helped me choose my fundraising goal of $7,100 but with federal funds cut for pancreatic cancer research I’m hoping to surpass that. With the help of generous donors we achieved this goal on August 3rd and increased to $10,400. The additional $3,300 represents the 33 days Jerry battled pancreatic cancer.
