John Gelber 1939-2025
I will tell you, pancreatic cancer is ROUGH. My husband was diagnosed in September 2024, was treated at MD Anderson in Houston. Like so many, the available treatment was unsuccessful, and in February he was released to hospice, and March 2025 he passed away in our rental home. I can honestly say this is the hardest thing I have ever done.
I'm so blessed to have the support of family and friends. We were able to move temporarily to Houston to receive expert medical care. But that wasn't enough.....
Pancreatic cancer affects people of all ages, all over the world. Many of them are not as "lucky" as we have been. PanCan provides vital support to those patients and families, and needs your support.
Every dollar you give funds life-changing programs and services for patients and their families. Because of you, patients and families receive essential services, resources, information, and support when they are urgently seeking help and hope. They need you now more than ever.
Please make a gift of any size to get me one step closer to my fundraising goal and help PanCAN create a world in which all patients with pancreatic cancer will thrive.
Throughout John's illness in hospital rooms, in our rental home, in the chemo area of MD Anderson, I created art to quiet my mind and create positivity to help me face the fear of what was happening. All these paintings are now available, in Arizona, as my fundraiser.
I'm opening my fundraiser at the 2025 Tubac Open Studio Tour. Each original painting is matted and ready for framing. Just make at least a $50 donation to purchase a painting. All proceeds will go to Pancan.org.
Following the Open Studio Tour event, I will do a drawing of remaining paintings, and mail them to people who have donated. Thank you.
I am grateful for your generous support for this organization.
