Husband, father, son, popop, brother, uncle, friend. Larry Krastel had all of these roles during his life, which he did so with so much love, kindness and generosity. As a husband of 47 years, he would do absolutely anything to make his wife, Jane, happy. As a father of ten children, he was able to make time for all ten - never missing a sporting event and always being there day or night. A lot of what we learned from him was not just from advice he gave us. In fact, what we learned most is not from anything he said to us at all. Some of the most important things we learned from him came from just watching and being around him, and how he lived his life. How he loved and respected his wife. How he was always available to help anyone that needed it. His generosity towards others and how his door was always open for cousins, family, friends, or anyone that needed a place to stay.
Unfortunately, on July 5th, 2016, he passed away from Pancreatic Cancer. The world lost a truly great man that day. He left a legacy that will be carried on for generations to come.
One of the last things Dad said was, "You can never try to be anyone else. You can only do what you can do." How much can you do to help fight the third leading cause of cancer death in the United States?
