Celebrating one year cancer free!!

Thank you for supporting my PanCAN PurpleStride fundraiser!

I am celebrating the one year anniversary of my cancer surgery by giving back to the community of past, present, and future pancreatic cancer patients – and I need your help to do it!   While I have been extremely blessed and fortunate to progress better than I could have imagined during this past year, I know that my story is not the typical one.   Pancreatic cancer is one of the least survived cancers as only 13% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer survive 5 years.   I will walk as part of my own gratitude, to acknowledge and thank all of the people who have helped us this year, and to honor the so many people who pancreatic cancer has taken.

I’m am doing this at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

I never would have made it through this year without two important types of support beyond our friends, family, and church community: 1) Vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients, and  2) free, personalized, one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services.  PurpleStride participants raise money to fund both and more.

Here’s where you come in! I’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal and need your donations! A gift of any size will help patients and families facing a pancreatic cancer diagnosis.

Let’s show everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer that we’re fighting for them.    And if you are in San Diego that day and want to walk with Jean and me, we would love for you to join us!

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
