Who I Fight For:

My dad was the rock of our family, and we loved him dearly.  He had a “John Wayne” type of presence.  We had a lot of gatherings for every occasion you could think of and that was his favorite place to be.  He and my mom often took their grandchildren on fun jaunts around town or on vacation with them.  His eyes would light up whenever he was around them and they adored him in turn.

Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer took his life in 2012 at the age of 75.  Our family was devastated and was never really the same.  There are now great-grandchildren that have never met him, but we make sure to tell them about their awesome and legendary Great-Grandpa Harry!

I stay involved with the PanCan PurpleStride Campaign to honor my dad and to raise funds and awareness, so others will have a better chance of survival.  Please consider donating today.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
