Welcome to our team fundraising page for our good friend Karen Scorpio.

We participated in the Purple Stride PanCan Walk on April 26, 2025. It was a 3 mile walk through Roger Williams Park on a very VERY rainy day. Karen was waiting for us at the finish line and seeing her smiling face meant so much to us. We would have walked many more miles for her to support this wonderful organization.

Karen is our good friend and neighbor who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer and has the most positive attitude towards the entire treatment process. Karen is one of the most kind, caring, giving and thoughtful people I know. Our hearts and prayers are with her and her family every day through this journey. 

Money raised helps bring us closer to an end to pancreatic cancer, funds vital research that can bring new treatment options to patients and provides free, personalized one-to-one support through PanCAN Patient Services; and more.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
