Welcome to Sari's Purple Stride page!

2 decades ago we lost you.  So hard to believe.  I remember being brought to tears when you called to wish Neil and I a Happy 1st anniversary.  (I knew in my heart you would not wish us a 2nd.)  I also clearly remember you asking if I was pregnant-in a way only you could.  You were robbed by pancreatic cancer.  You have 4 amazing grandchildren and you would be so proud of all of us, including mom.  Oh the fun and laughs we would have had these last 20 years. (some disputes as well)  

The above is why we raise money every year.  So families are not robbed of time with their loved ones.  There have definitely been gains since we lost you, but not enough.  We will continue to walk until we END IT! Please join our team (END IT!) from near and far.  Everyone walks the same day (April 26, 2025) so doesn't really matter where you live.


Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of all major cancers, at just 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can?t take away our determination.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
