Welcome to My Personal Page

In honor of my late husband Mike and the many families impacted by Pancreatic Cancer, I sponsor this event annually to bring awareness to the PANCAN organization.  In 2014, my husband of 40 years was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer; by the time his symptoms appeared, it had already spread to other organs, meaning it was at Stage 4. The survival rate is dismal at best, so we immediately started working with the PANCAN organization, who provided the resources and assistance we needed to find the doctors that specialized in this type of cancer. PANCAN provided invaluable support and information to help us navigate the process and types of treatment.

My husband passed away in November 2016 after being given a prognosis of only six months to live. However, due to the invaluable support and resources provided by PANCAN, he was able to fight against his diagnosis for an additional year and a half. We deeply miss him and cherish the extra time we were able to spend with him, thanks the efforts of PANCAN. Their dedication to Pancreatic Cancer research and support services has significantly impacted our lives and countless other families facing similar challenges.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
