Team Forever In Our Hearts

Two of the most significant people in my life both courageously lost their battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 73. 

My mom was a beautiful soul that truly judged no one and loved unconditionally. She had such a deep love of owls and making macrame wall hangings. My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April of 2019. She was able to have the Whipple procedure and undergo chemo however she would have a second battle to fight, as soon after she was diagnosed with colon cancer (a second primary cancer). My mom fought so incredibly hard and in April of 2020 after fighting for 375 days she lost her battle with pancreatic cancer. 

My college sponsor, Mr. Posey was an amazing man and philanthropist. After a 3 year battle, he too lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. It is because of him that I had the opportunity to have a full ride to Austin College, ans and am able to have a career doing something that I truly love. 

It is my intention to continue their fight where they left off.  My goal is to give support and a voice to those that are fighting through this disease. 

PanCan does a great job advocating for and supporting patients and their families.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
