Still fighting almost 5 years since being diagnosed with PDAC!! (pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma) I was blessed to be able to survive Chemotherapy, radiation, and Whipple surgery on my “Lucky Friday the 13th” of March, 2020. The past 2 years I have been privileged to walk in Chicago’s Purple Stride and it was so very inspiring to me and my family, as well my partner in love and life Jim! What an incredible feeling to be able to walk along the beautiful lakeshore of one of my favorite cities in the world while helping to raise money for more research into this hideous cancer. In just the past 4 years, the 5 year survival rates have risen every year and it’s now 12%. This is a great gain, but still not anywhere near what we need as this cancer is becoming far more pervasive and hitting even younger people! Please consider supporting my 3rd Purple Stride walk by donating whatever you are able! My goal this year is $1500. I would love to beat that if possible, but I also appreciate all the prayers and support from friends and family I have received these past years. I am blessed to watch my children thrive, and my sweet grand babies grow and I thank my God EVERYDAY! Thanks to all of you reading this as well!

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
