Welcome to my PanCAN PurpleStride Personal Fundraising Page!

I’m taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

I’m walking with a team to honor Judy Cochrane Simons and will also be supporting a team walking to honor Kathleen McCarthy Sober. These amazing W&M ‘87 classmates were taken way too soon by this horrible disease.

Judy passed in November 2024 after a 2 year grueling fight. Judy and I were in Dupont freshman year and played volleyball... co-captains together as seniors. We were each other's truth tellers for over 40 years.

Kathleen passed away in June 2023. Kathleen and I were on the same hall in Unit A sophomore year. Enjoyed our soccer-volleyball cross-team bonds. We were in a W&M supper club for almost 40 years and started playing Pickleball on Saturdays during the pandemic.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
