I want to make the biggest impact on the lives of pancreatic cancer patients – and I need you to do it!

I’m taking steps at the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, PanCAN PurpleStride, on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

My name is Reyna Arreguin, and I am a one year survivor of Pancreatic cancer. I was diagnosed at 13 years old on February 14th and a week later on February 19th I had surgery. The surgery I went through was the Whipple Procedure which rearranged my digestive organs and left me with almost no pancreas. I luckily didn't have to go through chemotherapy but I am still taking many steps to recover.

Life has had such a dramatic turn, not only am I recovering from my major surgery, but I am also a 14 year old trying to live a regular life. My situation was very rare since most people don't find out about them having Pancreatic cancer until they are in their older years. It hurts me deeply that many people have been too late to find out that they have it and it becomes one of the leading causes of death from Cancer. It is now beating Breast and Prostate cancer due to it being able to go undetected until it is too late.

I stride not only for myself, but to all who have fell and anyone we can save. My journey has brought me the blessing of hearing many stories from survivors and from family members of the fallen. I stride for them. I stride to show the world that this cancer is so fatal and we need to find a way to catch it before it catches us. I stride for answers, and will continue to until my time is up. 

I would like to ask you to stride with me and show cancer that we will NOT let it win!
