Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

I’m taking steps at PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer, on Saturday, April 25, 2026. 

I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in December 2024 and told my average life expectancy is 8-12 months.  Well, if you’ve met me, you know I’m anything but average! 

This cause is deeply important to me. Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S., and research to find effective treatment options has been historically underfunded. 

After 20+ rounds of chemo, I plateaued aka the chemo stopped working. I will keep jumping from treatment to treatment until I find one that continues to keep this cancer at bay. 

For now, I’m lucky to be enrolled in a clinical trial in Sarasota. I am very grateful that I don’t have to relocate out of state for 1 month, away from my family, especially my kids.  Please know that I am fighting this illness with everything I have. 

This is my why - why I’m participating in PurpleStride – it’s hard to get into trials, even harder to navigate the medical mountain -I thank God daily for my clinical background as a Nurse Practitioner. My fundraising helps people affected by pancreatic cancer receive free, personalized support, resources and information through PanCAN Patient Services.
