Walking for a Cureless Disease: Help Me Fight Pancreatic Cancer!

Family and Friends, 

I’m proud to take steps to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, PanCAN PurpleStride!

Please consider supporting me as I walk to raise awareness for Pancreatic Cancer on April 25th.

This is one of the most devastating cancers, and it urgently needs our attention.

What is Pancreatic Cancer? It's an aggressive disease that forms in the tissues of the pancreas, an organ crucial for digestion and regulating blood sugar. Because it's often difficult to detect early, it's tragically referred to as a silent killer.

The Harsh Facts:

Pancreatic cancer accounts for about 3% of all cancers in the US, but nearly 8% of all cancer deaths.

The long-term prognosis is grim: the overall 5-year survival rate is only about 13%—the lowest of all major cancers.

There is no reliable cure. Surgery offers the best chance, but the majority of patients are diagnosed too late for that option.

This is why funding for early detection research and new treatments is critical.

To make the biggest difference, I’ve set an ambitious fundraising goal and I need your help.

Your presence will help us turn this silent killer into a public fight, bringing vital attention to the need for change.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
