Thanks for supporting my PanCAN PurpleStride fundraiser in honor of Dennis Toomey

We are fundraising in honor of Dennis Toomey. 

Dennis was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in March 2024 and fought his illness with faith, courage and integrity. He centered his life around God and family. He was the most hardworking, loving man who cared and provided for his loved ones…always putting himself last. He cherished his family, friends and his dog Scout. He was always up for a good time, watching a game, going out to dinner, and spending time at Lake George with his family.

Dennis’ devotion to Jesus and The Blessed Mother flourished over time and became an integral part of his daily life. He had a very strong will and fought to the end. His spirit remained unbroken, anchored by his unwavering faith.

Dennis passed away on January 10th, 2025. 

PurpleStride is an inspiring event for anyone who has been affected by pancreatic cancer and wants to ensure vital research continues and free resources are made available to all who need them.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
