Thanks for supporting our PanCAN PurpleStride team fundraiser!

We're proud to be taking steps as a team to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN’s biggest community event of the year, PanCAN PurpleStride!

 I had never participated in fundraising like this before. I am learning more about pancreatic cancer as time goes by.

Unfortunately, my dad (who means the world to me) was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in the head of his pancreas. Luckily, he was eligible for the Whipple procedure and we found the best surgeon closest to us (shout out to Dr. Assad Hassoun Sutter San Francisco!) who successfully removed all of the cancer but determined it was at stage 3. 

My dad will be embarking on a 6 month chemo journey that none of us are prepared for. We are trying to be ready as he starts this in 2 weeks… just in time for Christmas. This fundraiser has helped me feel some control over my anxieties and worries including empowering myself with education. 

PurpleStride is an inspiring event for anyone who has been affected by pancreatic cancer and wants to ensure vital research continues and free resources are made available to all who need them.

To make the biggest difference, we’ve set an ambitious team fundraising goal and need your help – will you donate to our fundraiser? You can donate directly to the team (which will not go toward a specific team member’s goal) or you can select a team member and donate toward that person's fundraising goal (which will also support the team’s goal)!
