Rudy’s Groupies Walk Again – FOUR years strong!
For the fourth year in a row, Rudy’s Groupies is hitting the Santa Monica Pier in honor of my dad, Rudy. He is our family’s constant source of courage, laughter, and inspiration, and his strength and humor guide us as we march forward in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, we’ll join the PanCAN PurpleStride, a nationwide effort to fund lifesaving research, innovative treatments, and patient support services. Pancreatic cancer remains one of the deadliest cancers, with a five-year survival rate of only 13% across all stages. While the 13% rate is low, it has tripled since the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) was founded (it was once as low as 4-6%). These numbers are more than statistics, and represent the urgent need for action, hope, and progress.
Here’s how YOU can be part of this fight:
1) DONATE: Every dollar brings us closer to breakthroughs in early detection, life-saving treatments, and ultimately, a cure. Donations are currently fueling breakthroughs in mRNA cancer vaccines, tools for earlier detection, and precision medicine that targets specific genetic mutations like KRAS. Your support, no matter the size, makes a direct difference for patients and families facing this relentless disease.
2) JOIN OUR TEAM: Walking with Rudy’s Groupies is a celebration of life, laughter, and resilience. Registration is free, and if you donate $100 before April 5, you’ll be mailed an official PanCAN PurpleStride T-shirt to wear during the walk at the village opening ceremony. Along the way, we’ll fuel up Grossberg-style with coffee, bagels, and snacks at our tailgate before cheering alongside Rudy and honoring every walker on as we take steps toward hope.
