My Mami, Maricela Vita, passed away on January 19, 2021, after her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Throughout her journey, Mami showed extraordinary strength and determination. She endured 15 rounds of chemotherapy, and when that chapter ended, she bravely moved forward with surgery to remove her pancreas. Sadly, she passed away shortly after due to complications from the surgery.

Mami was resilient, fearless, and strong-willed. A true fighter who was determined to beat cancer’s ass. Anyone who knew her knew she was spicy, full of attitude, and absolutely unstoppable. Nothing was ever going to stand in her way.

Words can’t describe how deeply she is missed, especially her infectious laugh and beautiful smile. My sisters, brother in law and I chose to do this walk to honor her life, keep her memory alive, and raise money for a cause that means so much to our family.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who is walking with us and to those who have donated. Your support, love, and time do not go unnoticed.
