In Loving Memory of Robert “Bob” Spillman
A friend to everyone and a stranger to no one, Robert Spillman—also known as “Bobby Buckshot,” “Big R,” “Bob Ellen P. Woman,” “Scobe,” “One Pitch Scobe,” “Magic Scobe,” "Uncle Cold Stove," and most simply, Bob—was a larger-than-life presence in the lives of all who knew him. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October 2023 and passed away on January 5, 2026. True to who he was, Bob faced his diagnosis with courage, gratitude, and an unwavering love for the people around him. He lived life to the fullest and never took a single day for granted.
To honor him, our family and friends have formed two PurpleStride teams:
- Because of Bob (Los Angeles)
- Because of Bob (Omaha)
Though we may be walking in different cities, we are united in our love for Bob and our commitment to honoring his legacy.
We walk to celebrate the life he lived and to help change the future for other families facing pancreatic cancer. Any support—whether through a donation, sharing this page, or walking alongside us—means so much to our family and helps fund critical research and patient support.
Thank you for remembering Bob and for standing with all those affected by pancreatic cancer. We are deeply grateful for your love and support.
