I’m proud to take steps to end pancreatic cancer at PanCAN’s biggest community event in memory of our father; James K. Curry

PurpleStride is an inspiring event for anyone who has been affected by pancreatic cancer and wants to ensure vital research continues and free resources are made available to all who need them.

To make the biggest difference, we must stand together and fight. Fight the battle our father courageously fought until the very end. 

A father is usually the person who teaches you how to be strong. But watching our dad face pancreatic cancer showed us a different kind of strength — the quiet, stubborn, everyday kind that doesn’t always look heroic, but absolutely is.

Cancer tried to reduce his world to hospital rooms, test results, and difficult days. But it never took away who he was. Even on the hardest days.

Pancreatic cancer is known for being brutal. It asks for more than feels fair. And yet, he showed up to that fight with more courage than most people show in a lifetime. Not just in big moments, but in the small ones: getting up when his body didn’t want to, going through treatment after treatment, holding onto hope, and letting love carry him when strength ran low.

To honor our father’s memory and the courage he showed, we invite you to walk with us at this event or support the cause with a donation. Every step taken and every contribution given helps carry his strength forward and brings hope in the fight against pancreatic cancer.
