Team OkayLoveYouBye was formed to honor my late mother, Donna Morton who passed away from her battle with Pancreatic Cancer. The name comes from her signature sign-off line at the end of every phone call with her family and close friends. No matter the tone of the call, Donna would say, "Okay love you, bye,” before hanging up as if the phrase was one word. She did this so often that every call with any one of my family members now ends with “OkayLoveYouBye.” This sentence represents what she stood for, “If I love you, I will remind you every day.” Donna’s love wasn’t hard to earn, and if she did love you, then you know the true definition of loyalty, and what it means to have a cheerleader.
To those who had the pleasure of making her acquaintance, you understand that she is impossible to describe in a short narrative. She loved her family, her children, her friends, expert-level cooking, Sunday Morning on CBS, a glass of prosecco, her feet in the sand, and swimming in the ocean no matter the temperature. She was a better hang at 61 than anybody I know in their 20’s, laughed when most would cry, and could brighten any situation with her well known cheek-to-cheek smile that read, “I’m just happy to be here.”
Nothing would make her prouder than being the reason people come together for a scenic walk full of laughter, hope for those fighting, and to be the center of attention! Any donation helps but participation holds the highest value of all.
With Love,
Daniel
