Welcome to My PurpleStride Personal Fundraising Page!

Pancreatic cancer does not stop or slow down, and neither do we!  Fourteen years ago, our family of six lost our dad, James Burris Cash, too soon in life, to pancreatic cancer.  He was the healthiest one in the family – he exercised, had a good attitude, ate right, did not smoke, and kept his preventative annual appointments. Yet, this disease took him anyway. I also have lost friends and neighbors and have friends diagnosed and undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer. PanCan has made great strides in fighting this beast, but we must continue until the war is won.

I’m going to help make progress, with your support.

I’m participating in PanCAN’s PurpleStride, a national movement that for the second time in its history, is on the same day everywhere in the country!  PurpleStride helps fund lifechanging programs and services for pancreatic cancer patients and their families.  This year it is on Saturday, April 26th.  Yes, I know this is jazz fest weekend, and yes, I know this is a Festival International weekend, but you can still walk with us and have plenty of time to attend one or both of these festivals!

Every dollar you give means more patients can benefit from PanCAN’s free, one-on-one support, personalized information, service and resources that can make a real difference in their lives while fighting this disease.

About PanCAN PurpleStride

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
