Pancreatic cancer never takes a day off. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Civil rights icon Congressman John Lewis. “Queen of Soul” Aretha Franklin. Beloved game show host, Alex Trebek. Apple’s founder Steve Jobs's unlimited resources could delay but were not enough to prevent his death, and more than 47,000 other Americans who will die from pancreatic cancer this year. The the disease has stolen our best and our brightest, our friends, family members and co-workers, but it can’t take away our determination. 

I’ve stepped up to Wage Hope at PurpleStride -- San Diego, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. I plan to give $2,022 to mark this unprecedented year, but also to mark PanCAN's achieving one of its 2020 goals, including doubling the 5-year survival rate of pancreatic cancer patients which was achieved in January 2020. But it is still a dismal 11%; these funds will help PanCAN do more!

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
