Welcome to my PanCAN PurpleStride Personal Fundraising Page!

Thank you for supporting my PanCAN PurpleStride fundraiser, the 14th one I have participated in, over the span of 15 years of fundraising and in 4 cities.

My husband Jim, who was the healthiest person I knew, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer 10 days after his 47th birthday.  Just 6 1/2 months later he was gone, after throwing everything at this cancer that was available to him.  Our family began fundraising weeks after his diagnosis and we continue to do so today, 16 years later.  While we have seen the 5 year survival rate rise from 6% in '08 to 12% today, pancreatic cancer has also risen to the 3rd leading caused of cancer death in the US.  We have advocated on Capitol Hill and done fundraising alongside some of the leading researchers in the field and we can attest to their brilliance and tireless dedication to developing early detection methods (STILL not available) and better treatment options. The unwavering support of our donors over the years HAS MADE A DIFFERENCE, and we thank you for supporting the efforts of these scientists, as well as the free patient support services available at PanCAN.org.

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
