Today would have been Conrad’s 76th birthday! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate and remember him than by posting a PurpleStride Colorado fundraiser today in his honor. I have shared his story many, many times on TV, radio and in person. His story was so unique. He was a 12 year survivor when he lost his fight with pancreatic cancer. A fight that I will continue to wage, for him, our children, Lindsay and Chris, and now our granddaughter Aubrey Rose.

How appropriate that the National Cancer Society announced today that the five year survival rate for pancreatic cancer is now at 12%!  That may not seem like much, but when Conrad was diagnosed in 2004, the survival rate was only 2%. Small strides mean everything.

PurpleStride Colorado is back in person this year. Mark your calendar for April 29th on the Auraria Campus, Tivoli Quad. I am so excited to be the PurpleStride Chair again this year. I am passionate about meeting our goal of $240,000. Please help me surpass my personal fundraising goal of $2000.
