Welcome to My Personal Page
I lost my dear husband Michael Thomas McCann to Pancreatic Cancer May 15, 2016. At Stage IV he survived 3 years and 3 months. Almost unheard of at the time. I attribute this to the excellent care he received at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, his positive attitude and a large support group of family and friends.
From his first day of treatment he referred to us as his "Chemo Sabes".
The American Cancer Society's latest "Cancer Facts & Figures" report reveals that the five-year survival rate for Pancreatic Cancer has now moved to 10% from 9%. This deadly disease has stolen our best and our brightest, but it can’t take away our determination.
I’ve stepped up to Wage Hope and Demand Better at PurpleStride, the walk to end pancreatic cancer. Will you help me rewrite the future of this disease by making a donation today? PurpleStride is not all we do but everything we do depends on PurpleStride.
Every dollar that you give ensures that the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network can continue working to improve outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. By donating today, you are supporting vital efforts continue the goals of PanCAN: Patient/Caregiver services, Research, Clinical Trials and Advocacy.
Purple ribbons aren’t enough. Please join me in the fight today.
