Amelia King and Purple Rocks!!!

As most of you know I am a Pancreatic Cancer Survivor of over 13 years now.   I am both humbled and grateful to be able to make that statement as very few people in my situation have that opportunity.  Pancreatic cancer only has a 5 years survival rate of 9% so the outcome is bleak and this must be changed. 

Dr David Ianitti is the surgeon that basically saved my life was  awarded at 300,000K research grant from Pancan.  This is what it is all about people!!  The money that we earn is going directly to research and education for this disease.  I had never even heard of Pancreatic Cancer until one shocking day in February 2011 and now I know more than I care to mention.  I had all the classic symptoms, backaches, highly elevated liver enzymes, loss of appetite and jaundice yet my GI doctor was clueless.  This is unacceptable and has to change and I still wonder if he ever heard on Pancreatic Cancer either.   My diagnosis actually came because of who I knew and not what the Health care industry knew.  This too is unacceptable.  

I hope that you also find this unacceptable and are willing to donate to a wonderful cause.  Our goal is to continue to increase the survival rate and in order to do that we need your help.  God bless each and every one of you and I pray that this cancer gets the attention it deserves.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.
