I hope this finds you doing well! It’s spring time and it’s that time of year again! Time for PURPLE STRIDE!

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer!

On Saturday, April 26, 2025, I invite you to take steps with survivors, families, caregivers, friends, physicians and researchers at our biggest fundraising event of the year. Every dollar we raise will help create a world where everyone affected by pancreatic cancer will thrive. I hope this finds you doing well. 

This will be my sixth year walking in Purple Stride in memory of my brother. I have set my fundraising goal high this year at a lofty $10,000! 

Pancreatic Cancer took my brother Larry Alton in 2020 after a 17 month fight. He was a great father, sibling, and friend to many, but he was best known for his love of animals. This world lost a wonderful guy that year. This year marks the 5th year since we lost him. As time goes on, many people forget what happened. I'm not forgetting him, nor any of the others who have fought hard and the many who lost their lives to this horrible disease. 

Did you know that Pancreatic Cancer has the highest mortality rate of all major cancers. For all stages combined, the 5-year relative survival rate is 13%. It is currently the 3rd leading cause of cancer-related death in the United States after lung and colon and expected to become the 2nd by 2030.

I won’t sit back and watch Pancreatic Cancer take more and more without putting up a fight the only way I can. I need help doing that by raising money AND awareness. 

Raya, Scott, and I will be walking on April 26, 2025 to advance lifesaving research, fund innovative clinical and scientific initiatives and support the roughly 64,000 Americans expected to be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2025. Your gift will make a difference in continuing progress.

I'm going to need a lot of help to get to my lofty goal. I've already donated the first $100 to my cause. Will you help me get to $10,000?
