Welcome to PanCAN for Nan!

15 years. Later this year, it will have been 15 years since I lost my Nan to pancreatic cancer. 15 years since I realized my passion for waging hope against this horrible disease. In those 15 years, it has been incredible to see the progress researchers have made, to see survivors surpassing the abysmal 5 year survival rates. I'm proud to contribute to that progress with my PurpleStride fundraising efforts year over year.

I lost my Nan to this awful disease in 2009, so this cause is near and dear to my heart. The day we heard Nan's diagnosis can be categorized as one of the worst days of my life. The moment I heard her diagnosis, my first thought was 'This is a death sentence.' It is one of my biggest dreams to see this change. My hope is for people facing this disease to instead think, 'I CAN FIGHT THIS AND WIN!'

Local action. Nationwide impact. This is PanCAN PurpleStride, the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, at nearly 60 events across the country, pancreatic cancer survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and supporters will join together and walk to honor everyone affected by the disease.

PurpleStride is PanCAN's signature community celebration, raising money to fight pancreatic cancer on all fronts — through research, clinical initiatives, patient services, advocacy and nationwide volunteer support. Learn more.
